Why do veterans experience homelessness?

Lack of Affordable Housing is one of the top causes of homelessness for veterans. Often, the amount of funding or assistance allowed for housing is lower than landlords and housing developments accept.

SAM4VETS – We are developing Affordable Housing for Veterans and their families in Grifton NC. We will be the first to provide housing with a willingness to; accept the HUD-VASH allowances for 3bedrooms with 2 baths.

The HUD-VASH program adopted Housing First strategies in 2012. The approach, an internationally recognized best practice, has proven effective for veterans

Inadequate support services

Are, also, a major factor driving up homelessness among veterans. Many veterans face a range of physical and mental health issues and require specialized services to help them.

SAM4VETS will not only provide housing but we will provide Support Services for our veterans and families. We will assist those in our housing with attending medical and mental health appointments, provide resource(s) assistance with completion of documentation and work hard to provide advocacy ensuring we assist our residents get all the Veterans Administration services needed as well as their benefits, in partnership with the Greenville Veterans Affairs Health Care Center.

We are a nonprofit organization; therefore, we are completely funded by donations. We need your support!
